OUR BULLDOG STORY
Our journey began with a lifelong love for bully breeds. Growing up around them, we were drawn to their strength, loyalty, and unmistakable heart. But everything changed the day we met Eli—a French Bulldog introduced to us through a nursing colleague. Eli was more than a pet; he became family. His gentle spirit and unwavering devotion revealed a side of the breed we’d never known, and he opened our hearts to the extraordinary love only a French Bulldog can give.
When Eli passed, we knew we wanted to honor the joy he brought into our lives. At the time, French Bulldog puppies often cost upwards of $10,000, placing them out of reach for many families. After the passing of my mother, we were blessed with the opportunity to purchase our first breeding pair—an unexpected gift that allowed us to turn our grief into purpose. From the beginning, our mission was clear: to make this remarkable breed more accessible while upholding the highest standards of health, temperament, and quality.
Our story is also woven with family history. The bulldog became the mascot of the United States Marine Corps during World War I, inspired by the Marines’ fierce reputation at Belleau Wood in France. With our grandfather, Pop, having served as a Marine in WWII, the connection to both the breed and its storied past felt deeply personal. It was as if something greater was gently guiding us forward, tying love, memory, and destiny together.
In Pop’s honor, we remain committed not only to responsible, ethical breeding but also to giving back. One of our long‑term goals is to provide a therapy dog each year to a veteran in need, extending the same comfort, companionship, and healing our dogs have brought to our own family.
Belleau Wood French Bulldog Manor was built on love, legacy, and purpose. Every Frenchie we raise carries a piece of that history—Eli’s joy, my mother’s blessing, Pop’s courage, and the timeless devotion of the breed we cherish.
